Description Sarmat
Sarmat F1 is a medium-late hybrid variety of cucumber with a period from mass germination to the beginning of fruiting of about 46 days and a fruiting period up to 60 days, allowing harvest until the first frosts. This variety is characterized by high overall and market yield, as well as good transportability and storability, making it attractive for commercial cultivation and marketing.

The fruits of the Sarmat cucumber are about 11 cm long and approximately 4 cm in diameter. They are characterized by moderate ribbing with grooves, absence of wrinkles, and large bumps on the surface. The shape of the fruits is angular, triangular, with a blunt base and rounded tip. The skin is greenish with moderate intensity, with long stripes and evenly distributed spots. The surface of the fruits has medium-density black spines. The flesh and skin are tender, and the flavor of fresh cucumbers is highly rated, making them suitable for fresh consumption and pickling.

The Sarmat variety exhibits high resistance to downy mildew, one of the most common cucumber diseases, with a resistance rating of 7 points. In addition, it demonstrates cold and drought tolerance, expanding its cultivation possibilities under various climatic conditions. The cucumber is insect-pollinated, with predominantly female flowers, which promotes stable fruiting. The development of this variety involved the Polish hybrid Wisconsin and the local Nежинский (Nежin) variety, ensuring a combination of high yield, market quality, and resistance to adverse factors.
