Sremski F1 cucumber is an early-maturing hybrid of the cornichon type, bred in Poland, characterized by high yield and excellent fruit quality. Plants are suitable for cultivation both in open ground and under temporary film coverings, enabling harvest from late spring until October. Fruits are cylindrical, 9-12 cm long, weighing 70-110 grams. The skin is light green with distinct light stripes and a bumpy texture, giving the cucumbers an attractive market appearance and good transportability.
The flesh of Sremski F1 cucumbers is juicy, crisp, and free of bitterness due to genetic absence of bitterness, making this variety especially valuable for dietary nutrition. Cucumbers are suitable for fresh consumption, enhance salads, and are ideal for pickling, including fermentation. The maturity period is 45-50 days, allowing for early harvest.
For cultivation, sow seeds at a depth of about 2 cm in late May, spacing plants in rows 100-120 cm apart and 10-20 cm apart within rows. The variety prefers moist, fertile soils and shows resistance to common diseases and temperature fluctuations, ensuring stable fruiting and adaptability to various growing conditions. The F1 marking indicates that this is the first-generation hybrid, combining the best traits of its parent forms.
