Soloveiko

Soloveiko cucumber — an early, bee-pollinated hybrid of Ukrainian selection, intended for cultivation in open ground and greenhouses. The plant is vigorous, medium-height, with good growth and branching: the main stem reaches a length of up to 150 cm, from which 3-5 lateral branches form. This hybrid is primarily female-pollinated and resistant to major diseases, including powdery mildew, spotting, and cucumber viruses, ensuring a stable and high yield.

The Soloveiko cucumber fruits are cylindrical, 8-11 cm long and 70-90 g in weight, with large but sparse bumps. The skin is a deep green with characteristic light stripes near the tip. The flesh is dense, crisp, juicy, without voids or bitterness, making this variety universal for fresh consumption as well as processing. A distinctive feature of this variety is the retention of fruit firmness and crispness during pickling and salting, which ensures that the cucumbers retain an attractive market appearance and a rich green color.

Soloveiko prefers sunny, warm locations and light, well-drained soils with neutral reaction. The variety is moisture-loving but does not tend to diseases, which simplifies care and increases yield. Cucumbers of this variety are widely used in cooking: they are excellent for salads, appetizers, soups, and garnishing main dishes, and are also one of the best options for canning due to their qualities.
