Cucumber Slava

Practical potential of the "Slava" cucumber

The breeding work of Iob Naan is a strategic choice for farmers focused on a stable, conveyor-style harvest. This variety successfully meets requirements for both classic film greenhouses and open-field cultivation. The vegetative plant type provides high growth energy, which is critical for rapid vine recovery after each fruiting wave.

Usage scenarios and agronomic practice

• Harvest optimization: The onset of fruiting ranges from 40 to 55 days, allowing farmers to plan market supply by targeting early yields in greenhouse environments and main-season yields in open fields.
• Crop protection: In high-humidity conditions where the risk of fungal infections is at its peak, "Slava" demonstrates applied resistance to downy mildew and effective suppression of powdery mildew. This reduces the need for frequent fungicide applications, which is essential for operations aiming to minimize pesticide use.
• Adaptability: The variety's flexibility allows for cluster (bunch) production, provided there is adequate nutrient management and regular irrigation. The vegetative habit requires bush training, which simplifies labor processes during harvest.

By choosing this variety, agronomists acquire a reliable tool for operations in regions with variable climates. Thanks to Ukrainian breeding, the genetic material is optimally adapted to local soil and climatic conditions, eliminating the risks associated with imported hybrids that have not undergone local field trials.
