Cucumber 'By My Desire' is a medium-maturing parthenocarpic hybrid that begins fruiting 42-44 days after germination. The plant is tall, single-stemmed, and slightly branched, requiring no pinching, which simplifies care. In the early growth stage, a single stem forms, followed by shortened lateral branches of 2-3 internodes. The leaves are small and triangular. A distinctive feature of this hybrid is the ability to set fruit again in the same internodes after the first harvest, ensuring prolonged fruiting and high yield up to 13 kg per square meter.
The fruits are cylindrical or spindle-shaped with blunt tips, 11-12 cm long and weighing 100-110 g. The zucchini are green with mottling — white stripes cover up to two-thirds of the fruit, sometimes almost to the base. The fruit surface is finely warty or with sparse warts, covered with white hairs. Spines are white in early stages and turn brownish later. The flesh is dense, crisp, juicy, with a pleasant sweet taste, free of genetic bitterness, making the cucumbers suitable for fresh consumption as well as pickling and canning.
The hybrid exhibits high resistance to powdery mildew and cladosporiosis, as well as tolerance to bacterial spot. It is well adapted for cultivation in open ground and under plastic covers, with cold and shade tolerance. Thanks to shortened lateral branches and a cluster-type fruiting pattern (1-3 fruits per node), cucumber 'By My Desire' is a low-maintenance and reliable choice for gardeners aiming for a steady, high-quality harvest.
