Description TOGURCHANIN
Spring barley oats of the Togurchanin variety are a thin-film, medium-maturing and medium-height variety distinguished by high grain quality. The plant has an erect bush with a straw length of 70 to 95 cm and average leafiness. Leaf sheaths, leaf edges, and the upper stem node are hairless. The panicle is two-sided with semi-raised or horizontal branch arrangement, and drooping spikelets. The grain varies from medium to large size, with 1000 grain mass ranging from 33-40 g. Grain density is within 460-550 g/l, and protein content ranges from 9.0% to 14.5%, making the variety valuable in terms of quality.

The Togurchanin variety has a vegetative period of 81 to 95 days, maturing 1-3 days later than the standard Metis. It is characterized by medium resistance to lodging and is slightly inferior to standard varieties in drought resistance. The variety tolerates excessive moisture well and responds positively to high agro-conditions, which contributes to stable yield. Average yield in the West-Siberian region is about 36.3 centners/hectare, in the Volga-Vyatsk region — 42.0 centners/hectare, and maximum yield reached 83.5 centners/hectare in the Sverdlovsk region.

However, the variety is susceptible to a range of diseases, including bunt, red-brown blotch, stem rust, and yellow dwarf virus. Susceptibility to crown rust and bacterial burn is particularly strong. Despite this, Togurchanin is well-suited for mechanized harvesting and seed processing, which facilitates agricultural operations. Recommended for cultivation in the West Siberia and Volga-Vyatsk regions, including Sverdlovsk and Tomsk regions.
