SOVHOZNY is a lentil variety belonging to pulse crops and widely used for feed purposes. This annual mid-season variety is distinguished by high resistance to ascochitis, drought, and pod shattering, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in various climatic conditions. Thanks to these qualities, SOVHOZNY demonstrates good yield, reaching from 1.8 to 3.8 kg per 10 m².
Growing the SOVHOZNY variety is recommended in April-May using row or band sowing methods. Optimal seed sowing depth depends on soil moisture: 6-8 cm at high moisture, 9-10 cm at medium moisture. The plant is characterized by disease and weed resistance, which facilitates care and improves production efficiency.
The variety was approved for use in 1955 and recommended for cultivation in various regions of Russia, including the Northern, Northwestern, Central, Volga-Vyatsk, North Caucasian, Ural, Western Siberian, Eastern Siberian, and Far Eastern. The originator of the variety is the Federal Research Center, All-Russian Institute of Plant Genetic Resources named after N.I. Vavilov.
