Nutt of the 'Odyssey' variety is a mid-season variety developed by the Selection-Genetic Institute of NAAN of Ukraine and registered in 2014. This variety is recommended for sowing in steppe and northern-eastern forest-steppe zones of Ukraine, where climatic conditions are characterized by drought and heat. 'Odyssey' is distinguished by its high adaptability to such natural-climatic conditions, making it promising for cultivation in regions with limited moisture.
Plants of the 'Odyssey' variety form relatively high stems — about 52.4 cm, which is one of the best indicators among studied varieties. The vegetation period ranges from 101 to 104 days, ensuring timely ripening and high yield. The variety is characterized by optimal assimilation surface parameters, including leaf surface area of about 35,200 m²/ha, which contributes to effective photosynthesis and formation of productive organs.
'Odyssey' nut is widely used in the food industry due to the high quality of its grain. Its grains are suitable for producing various food products, making the variety popular among farmers and processors. Thanks to its drought and heat resistance, as well as good yield, the 'Odyssey' variety is a reliable choice for cultivation under changing climatic conditions.
