YUKAR

YUKAR is an early-maturing Galia-type watermelon hybrid developed by the Dutch company Rijk Zwaan. The plant is characterized by strong growth and robust foliage, ensuring its health and high productivity throughout the entire vegetation period. The fruits form an oval-round shape with a brownish-yellow rind covered in a net, and have an average mass of 1.5 to 2.5 kg, reaching up to 3 kg under favorable conditions. The flesh is light green or white with a slight green tinge near the skin, features a sweet taste and rich aroma, and has a sugar content of 13-14%. The small seed chamber makes this hybrid particularly attractive for the fresh market and processing.

The YUKAR hybrid is distinguished by high yield and good fruit setting even in the early period. It withstands transportation well and has good storability, which allows maintaining the quality of fruits for a long time after harvest. The plant is resistant to major watermelon diseases: high resistance to fusarium and medium resistance to powdery mildew, which reduces the risk of crop losses and the need for intensive application of protective agents.

YUKAR is suitable for growing both in open and closed ground. The recommended planting density is about 9000 plants per hectare, which promotes optimal development and maximum yield. Due to its qualities and adaptability, this hybrid is an excellent choice for farmers focused on obtaining high-quality products with good taste characteristics and a long storage period.
