Tytovka watermelon is an ultra-early variety with a vegetative period of 55 to 65 days, allowing harvest at the beginning of the season. The fruits are round or short-oval in shape, with smooth yellow-orange rind and weakly marked netting, weighing between 1.5 to 3 kg. The flesh is white, juicy, tender, sweet, and has a distinct aroma, making this variety particularly attractive to consumers.
This variety is characterized by high resistance to diseases and pests, as well as good transportability and storability, which allows maintaining fruit quality during transportation and storage. Tytovka tolerates heat and water deficiency well, but requires good lighting and warmth for full development. It is recommended to grow on fertile sandy loam and light loamy soils, providing optimal growing conditions.
For sowing, soil temperature should not be lower than 13-16°C, seed depth is 3-4 cm, and planting scheme is 140x70 cm with one plant per hill. To obtain an early harvest, seedlings are grown using greenhouses and temporary plastic covers, with seedlings cultivated for 25-30 days. This approach allows maximizing the variety’s potential and achieving high-quality fruits in a short time.
