RUSSIAN ROMANCE

Pumpkin variety "Russian Romance" is a mid-season creeping plant suitable for cultivation in both film greenhouses and open ground, primarily in southern regions. The ripening period is about 80-90 days from seedling emergence to the first harvest. For planting, it is recommended to use seedlings sown in April, with transplanting at the end of May – beginning of June at an age of 30-35 days. The optimal planting scheme is 70х150 cm. During growth, side shoots should be removed up to a height of 50 cm and the subsequent ones pinched off above 1-3 leaves. Irrigation should be moderate, especially during fruit maturation. Pumpkins of the "Russian Romance" variety have an oval shape with dark yellow skin covered with a medium-thickness and density netting. Fruit mass varies from 2.2 to 2.7 kg, although larger specimens weighing up to 3.3-4.0 kg are also found. The flesh is characterized by orange color, tender texture, high sweetness, and bright aroma, making the pumpkin taste especially pleasant and rich. The fruit has weak segmentation, which facilitates cutting and consumption. The variety "Russian Romance" is characterized by good yield, especially when using drip irrigation, reaching 6.2 kg per square meter. Fruits well maintain their market qualities for 15-20 days after harvest, which allows them to be used for both local consumption and transportation.
