The Nastena Slastena melon variety is a mid-season hybrid with a maturation period of 60 to 80 days depending on growing conditions. The plant is trailing, with bright green leaves and sturdy stems that are recommended to be tied to a trellis for ease of care. The main tendril is of medium length, and side shoots are developed; however, all side shoots up to a height of 50 cm should be removed, and subsequent ones should be pinched out above the 1st-3rd leaf for optimal fruit formation. Sowing seeds for seedlings is done in April, and transplanting seedlings is done in late May or early June when the plants have reached an age of 30–35 days. In the central regions, melons are grown under film covers, while in southern regions, direct sowing into open ground is possible at a soil temperature of 20-25°C.
The fruits of the Nastena Slastena melon are rounded, smooth, yellow in color without a net, and weigh up to 3 kg. The flesh is yellowish-white, of medium density, juicy, very sweet, tender, and aromatic, with a small seed chamber. Due to its taste qualities, the melon is excellent for fresh consumption, as well as for making various desserts, jam, and freezing. To increase the sugar content in the fruits during fruiting, it is recommended to reduce watering.
The plant requires moderate watering and sufficient sunlight. It has antioxidant properties and is rich in vitamins A, C, and E, making it beneficial for health. The plant's lifespan is about 80-100 days. When growing, possible pests such as spider mites, aphids, and fungal diseases should be taken into account, and measures should be taken to prevent them.
