Orange King

The Orange King watermelon is an ultra-early hybrid with bright yellow flesh, distinguished by high sugar content and a rich aroma. The vegetative period is only 55-60 days, allowing for an early harvest. The fruits have an oval-round shape and an average weight of 8 to 11 kg; under favorable growing conditions, the mass can be even greater. The watermelon flesh is tender, juicy, uniform, without white veins or cavities, with a pleasant carotene taste and sugar content from 11 to 13%. The plant is characterized by strong, powerful stems and abundant foliage, which ensures good protection of fruits from sunburn. The hybrid is resistant to fusarium wilt and is capable of maintaining the fruit set even under unfavorable growing conditions. The watermelon rind is dense, smooth, and thin (9-10 mm), light green in color with dark stripes, which contributes to long-term storage and transportation of fruits over long distances without loss of commercial and taste qualities. Orange King is suitable for growing in open ground and under temporary film covers. Due to high yield and early maturity, this hybrid is widely used for obtaining fresh commercial products. The fruits have a pleasant aroma and sweet taste, making them an excellent choice for fresh consumption.
