Melon Dnipro F1

A Landmark of Ukrainian Breeding: The Pineapple-Type Hybrid

Dnipro F1 is the outcome of rigorous development by the Dnipropetrovsk Experimental Station of the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing under the NAAS. This hybrid has carved out a significant space in the market for medium-early melons, specifically addressing the critical industry challenge of soil-borne diseases.

Agricultural Performance

Designed for the variable climate of Ukraine, Dnipro F1 offers remarkable consistency. With a vegetative period of 55–60 days, it ensures a harvest before the peak heat of late summer. The primary breeding goal achieved here is genetic resistance to Fusarium wilt. This attribute makes it a strategic asset for professional growers managing land with high infectious pressure, significantly reducing reliance on chemical fungicides.

Market and Culinary Profile

The variety is easily identifiable by its classic pineapple-type netting on an orange-yellow rind. Inside, the fruit offers a distinct, aromatic greenish flesh, which has become a signature trait of this hybrid. With a fruit weight ranging from 2.0 to 6.0 kg, it meets the demand for both retail convenience and large-scale wholesale supply.
