Lucerne NUTRIX is an elite variety of blue lucerne (Medicago sativa L. subsp. sativa) included in the State Register for the Central Chernozem region. This early variety is characterized by high dry matter yield — on average 66.9 centners per hectare, with a maximum of 162.5 centners per hectare, exceeding regional standards. Protein content in dry matter reaches 11.9%, and protein yield is 8.0 centners per hectare, indicating high-quality forage material. Plants have medium height, are resistant to lodging, diseases, and insects, ensuring stability and longevity of the crop. Flowers are predominantly blue-purple, with no significant presence of other shades.
A key feature of this variety is its ability to effectively engage in symbiotic interaction with nitrogen-fixing bacteria, which promotes nitrogen accumulation in soil and improves nutritional value. Pre-inoculation of seeds allows rapid colonization of roots by bacteria at early growth stages, enhancing yield and protein content. The variety demonstrates excellent regrowth after each cutting and early flowering, making it suitable for multiple uses throughout the season.
For sowing NUTRIX, it is recommended to use 2 Preci-bags per hectare at a seed depth of 1–1.5 cm. Optimal sowing periods are March–April and July–August, with soil pH above 6. After sowing, firming is mandatory to improve seed-soil contact. The variety is suitable for producing hay, silage, and haylage, providing high-quality feed for livestock.
