Alfalfa Lucerne

Heritage of the Fodder Institute

The Syniukha alfalfa variety is a classic piece of Ukrainian breeding, developed by experts at the Institute of Fodder of the UAAS. In the agricultural sector, this variety has long established a reputation as a reliable tool for building a stable forage base. Despite the influx of numerous intensive foreign hybrids, Syniukha remains in demand due to its predictability and strong adaptation to local soil and climatic conditions.

Agronomic Profile

Plants of this variety reach a height of 60–90 cm, providing an optimal balance between vegetative mass and ease of mechanized harvesting. A high regrowth capacity after cutting makes Syniukha efficient for multi-cut use throughout the season. On farms, it is often considered a "workhorse" for producing high-quality hay and haylage.

Market Positioning

The market position of this variety is defined by its hardiness. Unlike highly specialized hybrids, Syniukha demonstrates excellent winter hardiness and resistance to typical environmental stress factors found in Ukraine. It is the choice for agricultural producers who are focused on the long-term use of crops (3–5 years) and require stable protein levels with minimal risks of winterkill or stand loss.
