Alfalfa Julia

Italian Genetics for High-Yield Forage Production

Alfalfa «Giulia» by the Italian producer Natura is the preferred choice for agronomists aiming to maximize protein output per hectare. In intensive livestock farming, the quality of the forage base is paramount, and this variety consistently meets the demand for stable, high-protein feedstock.

Standing at 80–100 cm, the crop exhibits excellent leafiness, which is critical for the nutritional value of both hay and haylage. Natura’s Italian genetics are optimized for multi-cut systems, enabling 3–4 high-quality cuts per season under proper management. This makes it a strategic asset for operations focused on baled haylage or silage production.

Practical Applications in Farm Management

• Cattle Feed Base: Provides highly digestible protein, which directly impacts milk yields and livestock performance.
• Rapid Regrowth: Thanks to its vigor after mowing, «Giulia» maintains productivity across tight harvest schedules without performance drops in later cycles.
• Soil Health: The robust root system ensures resilience during mild drought conditions while acting as an excellent rotation crop by fixing atmospheric nitrogen and improving soil structure.

This variety is best suited for well-drained soils. The 80–100 cm height is ideal for modern forage harvesting equipment, ensuring mowing can be performed with minimal leaf loss. Integrating «Giulia» into your planting scheme helps reduce reliance on costly protein supplements, fostering greater self-sufficiency and operational efficiency.
