The lucerne variety Unitro has passed state variety trials and is included in the Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine, recommended for cultivation in the steppe zone. It belongs to the blue hybrid group of lucerne and is characterized by a powerful root system that ensures rapid regrowth of stems in spring and after cutting. Due to this, the variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness and improved symbiotic fixation of nutrients, which contributes to soil enrichment.
The main advantage of the Unitro variety is its ability to intensely enrich the soil with nutrients. In the soil horizon of 0-40 cm, a significant amount of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium accumulates due to root residues, exceeding the national standard compared to the Nadia variety by 62%, 36%, and 61% respectively. This makes Unitro an excellent green manure crop, contributing to soil fertility improvement.
The variety demonstrates high productivity: up to 8 centners per hectare of seeds, 760-780 centners per hectare of green mass, and 170-180 centners per hectare of hay with protein content of 21-21%, carotene 69 mg/100 g, and saponin content of 5 genetic indices. The powerful root system and high productivity make Unitro a reliable choice for farmers aiming for efficient and sustainable production of forage crops.
