Alfalfa BARNARD

Barnard alfalfa is a blue subspecies of Medicago sativa L. subsp. sativa, intended for green mass production. This variety is characterized by early-mid flowering onset and medium-tall plant height in spring. Green mass yield reaches 89.8 centners per hectare with 26.4% dry matter content. The variety has medium-tall resistance to verticillium wilt, enhancing its reliability in agronomic use.

BARNARD boasts exceptional winter hardiness and frost resistance, making it suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions. It demonstrates high resistance to diseases such as anthracnose and verticillium wilt, contributing to plant health and yield stability. Due to its high protein and dry matter content, this alfalfa variety is a valuable component of feed for lactating cattle.

The BARNARD variety pairs excellently with corn-based feeds, which possess high energy value, promoting improved animal nutrition. Alfalfa is used in agriculture and livestock farming as a source of biotin (vitamin B7), essential for animal health. Such a comprehensive feeding approach ensures high productivity and cattle health.
