Barnard alfalfa is a blue subspecies of Medicago sativa L. subsp. sativa, intended for green mass production. This variety is characterized by early-mid flowering onset and medium-tall plant height in spring. Green mass yield reaches 89.8 centners per hectare with 26.4% dry matter content. The variety has medium-tall resistance to verticillium wilt, enhancing its reliability in agronomic use.
