Flax Crane

Technical Profile of Zhuravka Flax

Developed by the Institute of Agriculture of Polissya (UAAS), the Zhuravka variety is engineered to provide yield stability under varying climatic conditions. The primary focus of this variety is robust phytosanitary protection, which is a decisive factor for economic efficiency in regions prone to excessive moisture.

Disease Resistance Mechanism

The core advantage of Zhuravka lies in its inherent resistance to major pathogens. Genetic immunity against anthracnose and fusarium wilt significantly mitigates the risk of crop failure and reduces the need for frequent fungicide applications. This technological stability ensures that the producer can rely on a consistent harvest, avoiding quality loss due to fungal infections.

Morphological and Biological Characteristics

• Floral traits: The plants display blue and light blue flowers, indicative of the variety's genetic purity.
• Seed structure: The seeds are brown, reflecting the accumulation of essential plant compounds necessary for high-quality output.
• Performance: The variety exhibits a predictable growth cycle, maintaining physical integrity until full technical maturity.

Integrating Zhuravka into crop rotation is a pragmatic choice for producers targeting high-oil content yields. Its resistance to aggressive strains of fusarium makes it a reliable asset for intensive flax farming, where maintaining plant health and seed quality throughout the season is paramount.
