PRALESKA is a variety of flax (Linum usitatissimum L. f. elongata) intended for the production of flax fiber. It is characterized by early maturity and a vegetative period of about 80 days. The plant stem is of medium length, which ensures the convenience of harvesting and processing. The flower petals have a blue-violet coloration, which turns blue at full development, and the pistil at the base is colored blue. The seeds are brown; the mass of 1000 seeds is 4.6-4.8 grams, which indicates good seed material quality. The variety differs in high yield: in the North-West region, 39.5 centners of flax straw and 4.0 centners of seeds per hectare are achieved, in the Central region — 26.2 centners of flax straw and 4.0 centners of seeds. Disease resistance indicators include protection from anthracnose, fusarium wilt, and bacteriosis, which increases the reliability of cultivation. Moreover, PRALESKA has good resistance to lodging and shedding, with ratings of 4.8 and 4.5 points respectively, which contributes to crop preservation. Fiber content in the plant is 28.3%, and the yield of long fiber reaches 22.3%, which makes this variety attractive for the textile industry. The relative breaking load of the fiber is 17.7 gf/ctex, which indicates the strength and quality of the obtained material. PRALESKA is recommended for cultivation in the North-West and Central regions, which is confirmed by the official release and registration of the variety.
