Flax Globus

A Reliable Choice for Oilseed Flax

Developed by the Institute of Bast Crops of the NAAS, the 'Globus' variety has established itself as a staple in Ukrainian flax production. It is a proven, time-tested solution for farmers seeking a balance between consistent yields and ease of cultivation. Due to its high adaptability, 'Globus' excels in various soil and climatic conditions, making it an essential tool for farms focused on both domestic processing and export.

Phytopathological Profile

The core value of the 'Globus' variety lies in its natural resistance to the most aggressive crop diseases. Fusarium wilt and flax rust have historically been the primary factors limiting profitability in flax farming, yet this variety minimizes these risks through its genetic profile. This resistance allows producers to reduce the frequency and intensity of fungicide applications, significantly lowering overall production costs without compromising grain quality.

Morphological Features

• Flower color: Intense blue, characteristic of the classic Eastern European flax breeding.
• Seeds: Brown in color, featuring an excellent oil content and a stable amino acid profile.
• Application: Primarily used as raw material for high-quality linseed oil production and protein-rich cake for the feed industry.

'Globus' is a strategic choice for modern farming. It does not require niche growing conditions, integrates seamlessly into standard crop rotations, and provides a reliable, high-quality product that meets the rigorous demands of the global oilseed market.
