Lettuce Papiro

A Reliable Choice for Iceberg Lettuce Growers

For agricultural enterprises aiming for high-quality production in the late season, the "Papiro" variety by Enza Limited is a strategic asset. In intensive vegetable farming, predictability of maturation and maintaining marketability during storage and logistics are key. "Papiro" effectively addresses these specific production needs.

Practical Implementation in Field Conditions

This variety fits seamlessly into continuous harvesting schedules. Due to its late maturation period, producers can extend the fresh market season when demand for high-quality Iceberg lettuce remains strong. The dark green heads feature a dense, compact structure, which facilitates both mechanical and manual harvesting and significantly reduces post-harvest wastage during transportation.

Key Technological Advantages

• Disease Resistance: Enza Limited’s breeding focuses on solving the primary challenges of Iceberg lettuce. "Papiro" exhibits robust resistance to downy mildew, allowing growers to reduce fungicide applications and minimize yield losses even under unfavorable climatic conditions.
• Mitigation of Physiological Disorders: Internal necrosis is a major concern for lettuce producers, often affecting shelf life and quality. "Papiro" offers high resistance to this disorder, ensuring a clean and pristine interior of the head. This is a critical quality standard for supermarket chains, where uniformity and the absence of internal browning are essential requirements.

The medium-sized head makes this variety an optimal choice for retail distribution, where standardized weight and an appealing appearance drive market value. By incorporating "Papiro" into your crop rotation, you invest in predictable harvest outcomes and reduced risks associated with environmental factors and plant pathologies.
