Cud Voorburgu

Cud Voorburgu lettuce is a mid-late maturing variety of oil lettuce, characterized by high yield and excellent taste qualities. The vegetation period ranges from 60 to 80 days depending on growing conditions. This variety forms large, round or slightly elongated heads with dense, juicy light green leaves. The lettuce core is tender, pale yellow-green, giving it a special attractiveness and mild flavor that remains for a long time after harvest.

For successful cultivation of Cud Voorburgu lettuce, seedlings are recommended to be sown in unheated greenhouses or seedbeds from mid-March to early April. Transplanting to the permanent location is carried out at the end of April to early May with an optimal spacing of 30-40 cm apart and 25 cm between rows. Harvesting occurs from June to July, and with a second sowing in June to mid-July, transplanting takes place in July, and harvesting continues until the end of September. The lettuce prefers well-drained, warm, and well-ventilated soil with consistent moisture, which promotes even growth and development.

The seeds of the Cud Voorburgu variety are coated with a special substance that increases their size, facilitates sowing, and ensures uniform germination. Additionally, the coating protects the seeds from soil pathogens, enhancing plant resistance. When planting, seeds should be sown 1-2 cm deep into well-prepared moist soil, with regular watering maintained until germination. Due to its characteristics and ease of cultivation, this variety is an excellent choice for spring-summer and autumn cultivation in open ground.
