Lettuce Malachite

Operational Profile of «Malakhit» Lettuce

The «Malakhit» leaf lettuce variety, developed by the Russian Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Growing (breeders: Zolotareva O. I., Timin N. I.), is designed for growers who prioritize production consistency and standard sizing. This variety is a reliable tool for commercial vegetable farms looking to optimize their mid-season harvest cycles.

Practical Implementation and Agrotechnics

• Harvest Efficiency: The mid-weight rosette structure is highly valued for its uniformity, which facilitates efficient harvesting, sorting, and packaging operations.
• Market Appeal: The intense dark-green color of the leaves serves as a key visual quality indicator, making it a sought-after product for retail shelf display where freshness is the primary driver of consumer choice.
• Growth Management: «Malakhit» is well-suited for standard agricultural management practices. It responds predictably to nitrogen-based feeding programs, allowing for efficient biomass accumulation without overly complex maintenance requirements.

For farm managers, the «Malakhit» variety represents a balanced solution for crop rotation. Its ability to maintain structural integrity during post-harvest handling makes it a practical choice for both local distribution networks and wholesale markets. By focusing on essential water and nutrient management, producers can maximize the yield potential of this productive variety throughout its middle maturity window.
