Description
The Abrek salad is a medium-early variety of curly lettuce suitable for cultivation in both open ground and various protected ground conditions. The plant forms a powerful and compact rosette about 22 cm high and 30-35 cm in diameter, with large green leaves that have a delicate semi-crisp texture and a slightly wrinkled surface. The leaves have a strongly wavy edge and a bubble-like structure, which gives the salad an attractive appearance and pleasant taste.
Abrek is characterized by high resistance to adverse factors such as edge burn and false powdery mildew, as well as heat tolerance. The variety retains its marketable appearance for a long time and is not prone to a rapid transition to the stem phase, ensuring a long harvest period. In addition, the salad is resistant to bolting, which increases its reliability during cultivation.
For successful cultivation, it is recommended to sow seeds directly into the ground in April-May or to grow seedlings in March-April followed by planting in May. The optimal planting scheme is 30x30 cm. To form a powerful rosette, regular and moderate watering is required, which prevents both water stagnation and soil drying out. The yield of the variety reaches 4.2-4.4 kg per square meter, and the mass of one plant is about 450-460 grams.
