Business lettuce is an early-maturing head type iceberg variety developed by Bejo Zaden from the Netherlands. Technical maturity is reached 45-55 days after transplanting seedlings into open ground. The plant is resistant to bolting, preventing premature flowering, and has high resistance to false powdery mildew, tarnish, and other pests, significantly simplifying care and increasing yield.
The head of Business lettuce has a uniform, flat-round shape with a slightly flattened appearance. Leaves are dark green, large, oval-shaped, smooth with fine serrations, crisp in texture, and have a pleasant flavor without bitterness. The weight of one head ranges from 400 to 600 grams, with plant height around 40 cm and head diameter up to 30 cm. Due to its excellent taste and attractive appearance, this lettuce is ideal for making fresh salads and garnishing meat and fish dishes.
The Business variety is recommended for cultivation in spring and autumn in open ground, and may also be grown in protected ground. Yield reaches 4-4.8 kg per square meter, making it profitable for commercial production and market sale of fresh vegetables. Excellent marketability and disease resistance ensure consistent product quality and ease of cultivation.
