Lettuce Amadeus

Reliability in Professional Farming: The 'Amadeus' Advantage

For commercial farms focusing on Romaine lettuce, the 'Amadeus' hybrid from Rijk Zwaan represents a strategic asset for achieving consistent yields. In intensive production environments, where phytosanitary issues can derail a season, this variety offers agronomists a significant security margin through its robust genetic profile.

Agrotechnological Resilience

The primary value of 'Amadeus' lies in its predictability. By integrating this variety into a crop rotation, managers can significantly reduce pesticide reliance while maintaining high quality standards:

• Downy Mildew (Peronospora): The hybrid demonstrates strong resistance, maintaining foliage integrity even under high-humidity conditions.
• Internal Tipburn (Internal Necrosis): High resistance to this physiological disorder ensures excellent internal leaf quality, which is essential for retailers and the foodservice industry.
• Lettuce Mosaic Virus: Genetic protection minimizes the risk of total batch rejection due to viral infection.

Operational Efficiency in the Field

'Amadeus' produces compact, dense heads with a vibrant light-green color, designed to withstand the rigors of logistics and transport. For farm managers, this means an extended harvest window: the crop retains its marketability longer without over-maturing or losing density, providing flexibility when weather conditions fluctuate or labor availability is tight. Its uniformity facilitates efficient harvesting operations, ensuring a consistent product that meets the aesthetic demands of consumers. The light-green hue is highly sought after for its fresh, appetizing appearance, making 'Amadeus' a highly liquid product across various retail channels.
