Lavender Violet

Breakthrough Breeding from the Nikitsky Botanical Garden

The 'Violet' lavender variety is the result of dedicated breeding by the Nikitsky Botanical Garden (NBS-NNTS RAS), focused on maximizing resilience in climates with severe winter conditions. The core of this variety’s performance lies in its complex genetic resistance to both soil-borne pathogens and common insect pests, establishing it as a premier choice for professional landscaping.

Technical Specifications and Plant Architecture

• Hardiness: Capable of withstanding temperatures as low as -25°C. This robustness is achieved through dense tissue structure that retains moisture and preserves the root system during deep freeze cycles.
• Disease Resistance: Developed with inherent protection against phytophthora and root rot, 'Violet' demonstrates exceptional survival rates in loamy soils where other cultivars typically suffer from root decay.
• Pest Deterrence: The plant’s specific biochemical profile, rich in essential oils, serves as a natural repellent against whiteflies and aphids, significantly reducing the necessity for chemical intervention.

Application and Maintenance Utility

Classified as a decorative herb, 'Violet' offers superior regrowth potential following trimming, allowing for precise control over the shape and density of hedges. Its low-maintenance profile, combined with resistance to fungal complexes, makes it a commercially viable solution for both large-scale municipal projects and private gardens. The variety requires minimal inputs to maintain its aesthetic integrity, ensuring longevity in varied planting schemes.
