Lavender "Usлада" – a perennial evergreen semi-shrub, growing up to 60 cm and living in one place for up to 20 years. Bushes form a compact structure with silvery-gray leaves, while blue-violet flowers are gathered in spike-like inflorescences and bloom at the end of July. After harvesting, it is necessary to cut off faded parts without touching the stems to preserve the shape of the plant.
This lavender variety has a strong spicy aroma in both flowers and leaves, making it popular for use in perfumery and spice blends. Fresh leaves can be added to sauces, mushroom, vegetable, fish, and meat dishes, while dried leaves are used in spicy-aromatic compositions or tea blends. To preserve flowers, they should be cut when fully opened, when the aroma is strongest, and dried in the shade in a well-ventilated room.
Lavender "Uslada" is known for its antiseptic and calming properties. In folk medicine, flowers are used as a remedy against moths, rheumatic pain, neuralgia, and bronchitis, as well as for stimulating appetite. Alcohol tinctures from this lavender are used in therapeutic baths and for various inflammations. It does not require a large amount of nutrients and grows best in a sunny place with good drainage, in water-permeable soil, which ensures resistance to standing water.
