Description Amando
Corn hybrid Amando is a mid-season simple hybrid with a maturity period of about 105-115 days and FAO 340. This variety was developed by Australian breeders of SAATBAU LINZ and is primarily intended for grain purposes. Plants reach a height of 250-290 cm, with ear attachment at 100-120 cm. The ear is long, 20-25 cm in length and 4-5 cm in diameter, with yellow, tooth-shaped kernels. The 1000-seed weight is 320-370 g, indicating good yield potential, reaching 160 ц/ha.

Amando is characterized by high resistance to major corn diseases such as helminthosporiosis, fusarium, and smut, as well as lodging and stem breakage. The hybrid has good resistance to cold and drought, making it suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones, including forest-steppe and steppe regions. Recommended planting density varies from 50 to 70 thousand plants per hectare depending on the region. Strong stalks and excellent water release contribute to stable yield formation even under adverse conditions.

The Amando variety also features high nutritional content: protein content reaches 6.7%, and starch content — 72.2%, making it valuable for feed use. Average grain yield across regions is about 51.6 ц/ha, and normalized dry matter — 181.1 ц/ha. Due to its agronomic qualities and adaptability, corn Amando is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to achieve high and stable grain yields under various agroclimatic conditions.
