Maize Ametist

Reliability and Adaptive Potential

Developed by the Institute of Plant Physiology and Genetics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the "Amethyst" corn hybrid is designed for farmers who prioritize stable performance across the Ukrainian Steppe and Forest-Steppe regions. With a mid-early maturity group (FAO 250), this hybrid is engineered to maximize productivity within typical regional growing seasons.

Field Performance and Key Advantages

• Superior Moisture Loss: One of the standout features of Amethyst is its ability to rapidly lose grain moisture during the maturation phase. This significantly reduces drying costs and allows for a more flexible harvest window.
• Structural Integrity: The hybrid demonstrates excellent resistance to lodging and common fungal diseases, ensuring that the crop remains standing and high-quality until the harvest reaches the field.
• Drought Tolerance: Its genetic background allows it to maintain consistent yields even under periodic moisture stress, making it a reliable choice for areas with unpredictable rainfall patterns.

Why Choose Amethyst?

Amethyst is an ideal solution for agricultural producers looking for a "middle ground" between high-input international hybrids and locally adapted varieties. It performs best for those who value the precision of Ukrainian scientific research and need a crop that is robust enough to handle minor agronomic inconsistencies. By choosing Amethyst, farmers gain a resilient, manageable hybrid that minimizes production risks while providing a stable, high-quality yield in diverse soil and climatic conditions.
