Description Zarevo
The potato variety "Zarevo" was developed at the Ukrainian Potato Research Institute and approved for use in the Central region since 1983. It is a medium-late maturing variety with a maturity period of 115-120 days. The tubers have a round shape with a pinkish skin and white flesh, with an average weight of about 73-83 grams per tuber. The variety is distinguished by high starch content — up to 24% — making it ideal for preparing fluffy boiled potatoes, airy mashed potatoes, and as a filling for pies.

"Zarevo" exhibits good resistance to major potato diseases such as late blight, fusarium, rhizoctonia, and scab, which helps maintain yield and improve its quality. However, the variety shows moderate resistance to viral diseases. The tubers have good storability, allowing them to be stored for a long time without loss of market quality.

"Zarevo" is recommended for cultivation in open ground with sowing in May at a depth of 8-10 cm. The yield of this variety reaches up to 400 centners per hectare (approximately 2.1 kg per square meter), making it attractive for both household and commercial use.
