Description Goryanka
GORIANKA — an early-maturing Russian table potato variety, characterized by round tubers with smooth yellow skin and small eyes. The cream-colored flesh contains 14.9–16.2% starch, providing good taste and versatility in cooking. Suitable for frying, baking, mashing, and processing into crispy potatoes. The variety has a storage capacity of 94%, allowing it to retain its market appearance and quality for a long time after harvest.

The plant is low-growing, semi-erect, with light green leaves and blue-purple flower buds. The variety is drought-resistant and resistant to potato scab, but susceptible to golden nematode and moderately susceptible to late blight of foliage and tubers. Yield ranges from 188 to 237 centners per hectare, with maximum yields reaching 384 c/ha. Each plant produces 6–11 tubers weighing 79–132 grams.

GORIANKA is primarily grown in open ground, sown in May at a depth of 8–10 cm with a spacing of 60 x 35 cm. The maturity period is 65–70 days, with the first harvest possible as early as day 45 after emergence. Recommended for cultivation in the North Caucasus region and developed by the All-Russian Research Institute of Potato Growing named after A. G. Lorkh and the Kabardino-Balkarian Research Institute of Agriculture.
