SPIRIDON

Potato variety Spirydon is a medium-maturing table variety developed by Russian specialists and intended for cultivation in the Ural region. The plant is tall, with semi-upright growth habit and dark green medium-sized leaves. Flower corolla color is red-purple. Tubers are oval-shaped with smooth red skin and yellow flesh, possessing very small eyes, which facilitates their processing and preparation. Average tuber mass ranges from 106 to 140 grams, and starch content varies between 11.9-15.8%.

The variety is characterized by stable and high yield, averaging 138 to 278 centners per hectare, and may reach up to 392 centners per hectare under favorable conditions. Maturation period ranges from 90 to 110 days, allowing effective harvest planning. Spirydon is resistant to potato cancer and rhizoctonia, and is slightly affected by golden potato nematode. However, the variety is susceptible to late blight of leaves and moderately resistant to late blight of tubers, requiring careful agronomic practices and plant protection.
