Description SOSRUKO
The potato variety 'Sosruko' is a medium-early table variety intended for cultivation in the North Caucasus region. The plant is characterized by low growth and an intermediate type with a semi-erect form. The leaves are small or medium-sized, green, promoting good photosynthesis and plant development.

The tubers of the 'Sosruko' variety are oval-round in shape with medium-depth eyes, covered with red skin, and have white flesh. The average weight of marketable tubers is about 112 grams. The starch content in the tubers reaches 12.8%, providing good taste and versatility in culinary use. Taste qualities are rated as good to excellent. The variety's marketability is 67%, and storability is 93%, indicating high tuber preservation during storage.

The variety is distinguished by high yield: marketable yield ranges from 114 to 235 centners per hectare, which is 12-25 centners higher than standard varieties 'Nevsky' and 'Elizaveta'. Maximum yield reaches 248 centners per hectare, exceeding the performance of the 'Volzhannin' variety. 'Sosruko' is resistant to potato cancer pathogen, but susceptible to golden potato cyst nematode and late blight on foliage and tubers. It also shows moderate resistance to crinkly and striped mosaic, as well as leaf curling, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in the region.
