Potato variety Solnyshko is a medium-early table type with a maturation period of 65 to 80 days. The plant is tall, intermediate type, semi-erect, with large open dark green leaves and weak to moderate leaf margins. The flower of the plant is very large, red-purple. Tubers are round with very deep eyes, smooth yellow skin, and light yellow flesh. The mass of marketable tubers ranges from 98 to 120 grams, and the number of tubers per plant ranges from 9 to 13.
The variety is characterized by good market yield, ranging from 110 to 237 centners per hectare, with a maximum yield reaching 338 centners per hectare, significantly higher than standard indicators. Starch content in tubers is in the range of 11.6-13.9%, corresponding to culinary type AB, making the potato suitable for making salads, soups, and frying. The taste of tubers is rated as good, marketability reaches 89-96%, and storability is 95%, ensuring long-term storage without loss of quality.
Potato Solnyshko has resistance to potato cancer pathogen, increasing its reliability in cultivation. However, the variety is susceptible to golden potato cyst nematode, requiring attention when selecting agronomic measures. The developer of the variety is FGBNUI "Kamchatka Research Institute of Agriculture". The variety is included in the State Register for the Far Eastern region and is recommended for cultivation under corresponding climatic conditions.
