The potato variety LIGA is an early-maturing table variety with a maturity period of 70-75 days, allowing for the first harvest as early as the 45th day after emergence of seedlings. The plants are semi-erect, intermediate type, with height ranging from low to medium. Leaves are dark green, medium to large in size, with strong wavy edges. Flowers have a red-violet tint. Tubers are elongated-oval in shape, with small eyes located superficially. Skin is smooth and yellow, flesh is light-yellow. Average weight of one tuber ranges from 92 to 125 grams, and marketability reaches 83-94%. Variety LIGA is characterized by high yield, varying from 211 to 354 centners per hectare, with maximum yields reaching 431 centners per hectare under favorable conditions. Yield is also high in early stages: on the 45th day after emergence, it amounts to 98-175 centners per hectare, and on the 55th day — 115-242 centners per hectare, exceeding standard varieties. Starch content in tubers ranges from 11.8% to 16.4%, ensuring good taste and medium mashability. Potatoes are suitable for various cooking methods, including boiling in jackets, soups, salads, chips, and French fries. Variety LIGA is resistant to several diseases, including potato cancer and golden cyst-forming nematode, and has moderate susceptibility to late blight on foliage and tubers. It adapts well to different soil-climatic conditions, making it suitable for cultivation in various regions. The yield of this variety exhibits excellent storability, at 93%, allowing prolonged preservation of tuber quality after harvest.
