SIMONA

Cabbage Simona is a late-maturing hybrid with an inverse egg-shaped head weighing from 1.8 to 2.5 kg. The plant features a vertical rosette of medium to large leaves with a grey-green color, distinct waxy bloom, and wavy edges. The head is dense, with a whitish interior and a medium to long stalk. This variety is distinguished by high market yield, reaching 492-527 centners per hectare, exceeding standard varieties, with a marketable product output of 91%. The cabbage has a good taste, making it versatile for various uses. The Simona variety is recommended for growing in open ground and film tunnels, and is suitable for long-term storage, pickling, and fresh consumption. Thanks to its frost resistance, the cabbage can withstand temperatures down to -18 degrees, allowing harvest collection up to spring without digging plants out of the soil. The vegetative period from sowing to harvest is about 120 days, making this variety convenient for growing in various climatic conditions. Simona cabbage is a valuable dietary product containing carotene, ascorbic acid, protein, and mineral salts. It is widely used in home cooking for preparing salads, stuffed cabbage, vegetable soups, and other dishes. To obtain seedlings, seeds are sown from January, and into open ground from April, which allows planning early cultivation and obtaining a stable harvest of quality cabbage.
