Dominator

The Dominator cabbage variety is a late hybrid of white cabbage intended for long-term storage and use fresh, as well as for pickling. From planting 45-day seedlings to harvesting takes 120–130 days. Plants form a powerful raised rosette of large blue-green leaves with a pronounced waxy coating. Heads are round, very dense, weighing from 4 to 7 kg, with white internal color and a medium internal stalk, ensuring resistance to cracking during harvesting. Outer wrapper leaves are dark green, partially covering the head, which aids its preservation.

The hybrid boasts high marketability—up to 90%—as well as excellent taste qualities for both fresh and pickled products. Dry matter content is 8–9%, sugars around 5%, and ascorbic acid up to 30 mg%. Yield reaches 12 kg per square meter or up to 120 tons per hectare. Due to high storability, the output of standard product after 6 months of storage exceeds 80%, making the variety particularly valuable for long-term storage and processing.

Dominator cabbage possesses genetic resistance to fusarium wilt and is weakly affected by thrips, although it demands high soil fertility. The recommended planting scheme is 70x50 cm, which is related to the large rosette of plants. Such an approach ensures optimal development and maximum productivity of the hybrid.
