Zircon

Zircon F1 is a medium-early hybrid of white cabbage developed by the Dutch breeding company Bejo Zaden. This variety is intended for fresh consumption and long-term storage, making it versatile for various applications. The heads have a round, compact, and very dense structure with excellent creamy-white internal flesh. The average head weight ranges from 2.7 to 3.7 kg, and the fruit color is bright green with a waxy coating and slightly wavy edges. The plant forms a rosette up to 60 cm in diameter and 60 cm in height, allowing for dense planting of up to 40-45 thousand plants per hectare.

The growing season of Zircon cabbage is from 100 to 145 days, depending on growing conditions. The hybrid is characterized by high resistance to adverse factors such as temperature fluctuations, frost, as well as diseases like fusarium, bacterial blights, and thrips. Thanks to these qualities, the plant adapts well to various climatic conditions and maintains its marketable appearance even after long-term storage. The leaf color remains bright green, and the fruit structure does not lose its density and juiciness, which is especially important for the fresh market and processing.

Zircon cabbage is suitable for diverse uses: it retains its shape well during thermal processing, making it ideal for soups and baking, and is also excellent for pickling. The yield of the variety reaches 8-10 kg per square meter, ensuring high output with optimal planting norms. Thanks to the long storage period—up to 8-10 months—this hybrid allows for obtaining fresh and tasty fruits throughout the season, while maintaining their beneficial properties and improving taste qualities over time.
