KRESTYANKA

Krestyanka is a mid-season variety of white cabbage with a maturation period from 105 to 125 days. The leaf rosette is raised, the head is of medium size, round and dense, with whitish flesh. The head weight varies from 1.4 to 3.8 kg. The external stalk is of medium length, the internal one is short. The variety has high taste qualities, making it universal for various culinary purposes.

This cabbage variety is recommended for pickling, making borscht, soups, stuffed cabbage rolls, stewing, and using as a filling for pies. Sowing for seedlings is done in early April, pricking out at the seedling stage, and transplanting into open ground in mid-May according to a 50 x 60 cm scheme. The yield of the variety is from 4.9 to 8.0 kg per square meter, indicating its high productivity.

Growing Krestyanka cabbage requires careful care, including soil loosening, regular watering, and application of organic fertilizers such as wood ash. Cabbage leaves are hard, crisp, and juicy. The variety is recommended for short-term storage, lasting up to 4 months at a temperature from 0 to +8 °C.
