TIKHOMIROVSKIY

Iris "Tikhomirovskiy" is a high-quality variety of iris (Iris L.), developed by FGБNU "All-Russian Research Institute of Fruit Growing" (named after M.A. Lisavenko) and included in the register of permitted plants in 2017. The plant reaches a height of 90–100 cm, has yellowish-green leaves of medium length, narrow and thin, which gives it an elegant look. The peduncles are thin, sturdy, straight and branched, with each plant usually forming from 18 to 20 inflorescences.

The flowers of the variety are characterized by a bright purple color with a small yellowish-green spot. The outer perianth consists of three lobes and has a drooping, rounded appearance, while the inner one is inversely lanceolate-stretched. The stigma blades are short and bright purple. The flowers do not shed and retain their saturated color even after a long period of watering. The flowering period is about 15 days, during which the plant pleases the eye with its large, three-petaled buds.

The "Tikhomirovskiy" variety is distinguished by its resistance to diseases and pests, as well as good winter hardiness and heat resistance. It is recommended for greening forest and forest-steppe zones of Russia, where its bright flowers create picturesque compositions in the natural landscape.
