Iris ON FIRE

Plant Architecture and Vegetative Potential

The 'ON Fire' iris is a tall decorative hybrid developed by the Federal Research Center for Horticulture. A key technical parameter of this cultivar is its flower stalk height, which ranges from 90 to 120 cm. This vertical dominance makes it an ideal candidate for background placement in landscape design or as a striking specimen plant in group plantings.

Root System and Growth Dynamics

The biological core of this hybrid is its powerful, fleshy rhizome. This critical organ is responsible for accumulating nutrients and moisture, ensuring high plant vitality even during short periods of moisture deficit. The rhizome structure guarantees stable annual vegetative mass production and consistent nutrient delivery to the flower stalks during the budding phase.

Color Spectrum and Flowering Performance

The ornamental value of 'ON Fire' lies in its multi-colored petal pattern, which creates a distinct visual contrast against monochromatic backgrounds. The technological flowering cycle spans 15 to 20 days. The consistency of this performance is highly dependent on soil texture and light exposure; the cultivar achieves its full genetic potential when planted in open, well-drained, and sun-warmed locations.

• Height: 90–120 cm — provides excellent visibility in multi-tier gardens.
• Rhizome Type: Fleshy — high adaptability and resource management.
• Flowering Duration: 15–20 days under optimal cultivation conditions.
