CANDY APPLE

CANDY APPLE is a bearded iris (Iris hybrida hort.) distinguished by its bright amethyst-purple flower coloration with possible pink or fuchsia accents. The plant reaches a height of 30 to 70 cm, depending on growing conditions, and features glaucous leaves that create a contrast with the saturated colors.

The stem of CANDY APPLE is sturdy, about 30 cm long, and straight. Typically, two to three flowers grow on each stem, but during the peak bloom period, a single vibrant bud opens. The size of an individual flower is approximately 7–10 cm in height and 8–12 cm in width, with a goblet shape and rounded edges. Flowers do not fade under normal lighting conditions, and the scent is light.

The variety is resistant to adverse weather conditions and is hardy, making it suitable for greening in the Central region of the Russian Federation. The flowering period lasts 14–16 days, starting from mid-May (May 17–19), reaching its peak around May 19–20, and concluding in early June (June 1–3). For optimal growth, a sunny location, well-drained soil, and moderate watering are recommended. After flowering, it is useful to cut off withered stems to maintain the plant's neat appearance.
