The "Starburst" variety is a shrub hydrangea with double flowers, growing up to 1.0–1.2 m tall with a spreading crown and slender elegant branches. The leaves are bright green, slightly velvety, with serrated edges; young shoots may have a pinkish-red tint. The bush forms large dome-shaped inflorescences consisting of double flowers with pointed tips; when fully open they take on a star-shaped form and pure white color, while at the beginning and end of the flowering period they are slightly greenish.
Flowering begins in June and continues until September. The flowers retain their bright color without fading, and the scent is strong. The plant is sun-loving but tolerates partial shade well; under more shaded conditions, inflorescences become smaller and less decorative. "Starburst" is characterized by high winter hardiness: minimum temperatures the plant tolerates comfortably range from -29 °C to -35 °C.
This hydrangea is ideal for group plantings, mixed borders as a foreground element, and for creating woody-shrub and shrub ensembles in leisure areas and flowerbeds. The bush is easy to prune, does not require special soil, and adapts well to various climatic conditions.
