Iris STARBURST

A Vertical Accent for Professional Landscaping

The 'Starburst' iris is a preferred choice for landscape architects who require stable, tall planting material for tiered garden compositions. Reaching heights of 90–120 cm, this cultivar serves as an ideal background for mixed borders or as a centerpiece in standalone flower beds. Its pristine white petals offer versatility, blending seamlessly into both minimalist monochromatic gardens and vibrant, high-contrast floral displays.

Practical Applications and Cultivation

• Spatial Zoning: The impressive height of the plant allows for effective partitioning of garden zones, acting as a natural screen during the blooming season.
• Public Landscaping: Due to its structural integrity and reliable growth habit, this variety is highly suitable for large-scale municipal landscaping and public park projects.
• Cut Flower Production: The long, sturdy stems are excellent for floral arrangements, maintaining their decorative appeal in water for extended periods.

Developed by the FGBNU Federal Research Center for Horticulture, this variety is well-adapted to typical climatic stresses, ensuring reliable winter hardiness and reduced maintenance overhead. In practical field management, 'Starburst' is valued for its minimal need for staking, provided it is planted in locations sheltered from strong winds. An optimal planting interval of 40–50 cm is recommended to ensure adequate airflow, which is critical for preventing fungal diseases in the rhizome system.
