The "SUVAR" hop variety represents a technical type with an aromatic and bitter-aromatic profile, recommended for inclusion in the state register for the Volga-Vyatka region. It is characterized by a medium yield of approximately 30 c/ha (with values ranging from 27.5 to 32.5 c/ha in different sources), as well as a high content of resins and bitter substances – from 19.4% to 23.3%. Alpha acids range from 5.0–7.5%, and hop oil is 8.5–9.5%. These indicators provide good bitterness and aroma during brewing use.
Physical characteristics of the cones include average size, slightly opened scales with a medium tip length. Technical ripening time varies from early to medium, and the vegetation period is 104–110 days. The variety has medium winter hardiness and low susceptibility to root rot, making it convenient for mechanized pruning of main rhizomes and harvesting.
"SUVAR" is distinguished by anthocyanin coloration of the main shoot – in some descriptions they are strong, while in others they are absent or weak. Despite this, the variety retains its aromatic character, making it attractive for both traditional brewing and experimental recipes with more pronounced fruity notes.
