Saphir (Sapphire) hops – a delicately aromatic variety that imparts a pure bitterness and a rich citrus and fruit aroma to beer. Due to its high alpha acid content, it is ideal for producing beverages with pronounced bitterness, and also ensures additional stability and durability of the finished product.
Saphir features a compact granular form, which facilitates storage and transportation compared to standard leaf varieties. With proper vacuum packaging, hops retain their aromatic properties and quality for three years, remaining a reliable ingredient throughout the brewing process.
This variety is widely used in various styles: Belgian Strong Ale, Wheat, Bock, California Common, Wit, German Lager, Pilsner, American Lager, Belgian Lambik and Altbier. Its spicy, fruity and citrus (especially mandarin) notes make it an excellent alternative to classic Hallertau varieties, giving beer a unique character and depth of flavor.
