Selyanochka

The buckwheat variety "Selyanchka" is elite and belongs to the first reproductive level. It is a medium-maturing, medium-height, and large-seeded variety with high productivity, developed through individual selection for determinacy, large seed size, and resistance. The variety is resistant to lodging and stem rust, and has enhanced drought tolerance, making it a reliable choice for cultivation under various climatic conditions. "Selyanchka" is recommended for Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissia zones and has been included in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine since 2014. The average maturation period is 85-90 days.

The technological characteristics of the variety are high: the thousand-seed weight is 28-29 grams, protein content reaches 15-16%, and the grain density varies from 560 to 580 g/l. The grain husk content is at the level of 21-22%, ensuring a coarse meal yield of 80-85%. The grain uniformity is 80-85%, positively affecting the final product quality. The average yield of the variety reaches 25-30 centners per hectare, with agronomic requirements corresponding to general norms for cultivation zones. The seeding rate is 3.5 million germinating seeds per hectare for broadcast sowing and 2.2 million for row sowing.

As a product, "Selyanchka" is presented as first-class quick-cooking buckwheat groats. The shelf life of the groats is 15 months at storage temperatures from +5 to +20 °C. The variety is resistant to certain diseases, such as powdery mildew and peronosporosis, further enhancing its reliability and crop quality.
