The Kiishmish Cocktail Grape is a new hybrid form of early maturation, created by breeders at the Ya.I. Potapenko All-Russian Research Institute of Vine and Grape Growing (VNIIViV) through the crossing of the varieties Vostorg Ideal and Einsset Sidlis. Under the conditions of Novocherkassk, this variety matures in the second-third decade of August. The grapevines have medium growth vigor, bisexual flowers, which eliminates the need for additional pollination. The clusters are of cylindrical-conical shape with medium density, weighing an average of 350-450 grams, with individual clusters reaching up to 700 grams. The berries are small, oval, weighing 2.5-2.9 grams, white in color, which acquires an amber hue in the sun. The skin is dense but edible, while the pulp is dense, fleshy, and juicy with a complex fruity taste. The Kiishmish Cocktail variety is distinguished by high sugar content, reaching up to 28 g/100 cm³, and acidity of 5-6 g/dm³, which makes it suitable for drying and fresh consumption. The canes ripen very well, with 80-85% of shoots being productive, and the number of clusters per shoot is 1.5-1.7, ensuring high yield. The grape is characterized by high resistance to fungal diseases and frost, allowing it to be grown in uncovered culture. The variety has good transportability, which facilitates its marketing and storage. Kiishmish Cocktail received a high tasting score — 9.1 points out of 10, confirming its superior taste qualities. Ripe fruit can remain on the vine until frost, during which time their taste only improves. Due to the combination of high yield, resistance to adverse conditions, and excellent taste characteristics, this grape variety is an excellent choice for lovers of quality table grapes and those who value the ability to use berries both fresh and for drying.
